This lecture will review the incidence and prevalence of migraine headache disorders, with an emphasis on the significant impact this neurological condition has on affected individuals. We will examine both abortive and preventive pharmacological therapies, presented within the framework of first-, second-, and third-line treatment recommendations. Additionally, evidence-based information regarding the use of nutraceuticals as potential treatment options for migraine disorders will be discussed.

Dr. Amy Bruno is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the field. She previously specialized in neurology for over a decade and obtained her PhD in nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2016. Dr. Bruno’s passion lies in working with patients who have headache and tremor disorders. For the past five years, she has been a primary care telehealth nurse practitioner, providing care to patients across the United States. She is committed to sharing her neuro expertise with her colleagues and integrating neurological care into her primary care practice. In her free time, Dr. Bruno enjoys traveling with her husband and their Siamese cat, Cappuccino.
