This course will describe and analyze five can't miss EKGs, starting at the basic level, and include some high-risk patterns that the machine will miss. What is normal? This course will explore a deep dive into what a normal EKG should look like and why. Followed by several case studies that will provide learners with a better understanding of certain situations and scenarios when performing sports physicals that they can apply in their everyday practice.

Central Coast Cardiology
Jennifer Carlquist PA-C works as a cardiology physician assistant with an emphasis on preventative cardiology and electrophysiology. She works a mix of inpatient and out patient medicine. She formerly worked in Primary Care and Urgent care at the beginning of her career.
She also works per diem in the Emergency Room and was one of the first Pas in the country to get her CAQ (Certificate Added Qualifications) in ER Medicine. She has been a PA for 15 years.
Previously, she worked as a 911 paramedic for 13 years starting in South Central Los Angeles where she served as a Lead Field Training Officer.
She speaks nationally on EKG's, cardiology related topics and managing difficult patient interactions. She has published articles in JAAPA on patient satisfaction and cardiology related topics.
She enjoys painting and has been featured in the local newspaper the Monterey County Weekly for her heart themed art.

Obtain Your Credits
To earn credits for this activity, you must complete all course components in the following order: 1) complete a three-question pre-test; 2) watch the course presentation video; 3) complete the course evaluation; 4) pass the post-test with a score of 2/3 (66.7%) or higher. You may retake the post-test until a passing score is achieved, at which point you will be able to view/print a copy of your certificate of completion. This online certificate will also be saved within your profile dashboard transcript for future access.

NPACE designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.00 contact hours, of which 0.25 is pharmacology credit. Participants should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
