Andrew Braunstein
MD
Andrew J Braunstein, DO, is a board certified neurologist specializing in general adult neurology, epilepsy and sleep medicine at Lake Norman Neurology, Piedmont Healthcare, Statesville, NC. Dr. Braunstein was first published doing undergraduate research in medicinal chemistry at the University of Florida studying AZT treatment for AIDS encephalopathy, and unique delivery systems for Carbmazepine to treat epilepsy. Dr. Braunstein graduated from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997, completed internal medicine internship in 1998 and neurology residence at Wake Forest School of Medicine from 1998 to 2000, graduating with honors, serving as Chief Resident during his final year, having won the House Officer teaching award twice and completed a fellowship in epilepsy and sleep medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2001. During his tenure at Wake Forest, Dr. Braunstein helped establish SIGN (Student Interest Group in Neurology) to help encourage medical students to pursue a career path in neurology. Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and American Board of Sleep Medicine, as well as, a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Braunstein has practiced for 23 years as a private practice neurologist with appointment as a clinical adjunct professor at Cambpell College of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Braunstein is passionate about neurology, teaching and research through his current practice, adjunct appointment and speaking.
