Ventilator Management: The Down and Dirty of it All!

This is a brief breakdown of how to manage the initial ventilator settings in the acute respiratory patient. We will discuss the basic settings, and modes of mechanical ventilation. What the NP will need to know to work with a interdisciplinary team. We will also discuss in detail how to care for the patient on the Vent, which is a different thought process than just managing the ventilator. We will also touch on how to handle the chronic vent patient and outcomes.
