Mystery of the Microbiome to Health, Wellness, Mood and Pain

Back to Package

The term microbiome was coined by Nobel Laureate Joshua Lederberg. He described it as “the ecological community of commensal, symbiotic, and pathogenic microorganisms that literally share our body space and have been all but ignored as determinants of health and disease.”
Scientists are uncovering many ways that the microorganisms that share our body can influence our health. It appears the human microbiome could be the key to treating all sorts of diseases, but how can we make these tiny creatures collaborate with us? Let’s do a gut health check.

This presentation will provide an overview to the importance and practical application of this new science. The importance of supporting a healthy microbiome and implications on general disease will be discussed. The audience will come away with an improved understanding of the gut-brain axis, the symbiotic existence of the host organism (us) and its microbiotic guests (them). This lecture will provide Clinicians with practical tips for counseling their patients on health, wellness, as well as holistic pain & mood management strategies.
