A session on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea would cover key aspects such as the different types of sleep apnea (obstructive, central, and complex), common symptoms (e.g., loud snoring, daytime fatigue), and risk factors (obesity, age, family history). Diagnosis typically involves a clinical evaluation and sleep studies (polysomnography or home tests). Treatment options include lifestyle changes (weight loss, avoiding alcohol), CPAP therapy, oral appliances, and in severe cases, surgery. The session would also highlight managing comorbidities like hypertension and the importance of follow-up care to ensure effective treatment and improve quality of life.
