This continuing education lecture offers APP's an current overview of the rapidly evolving field of biologic therapies relevant to common inflammatory an_d immune-mediated conditions. The session will cover recent developments in biologic medications, including newly approved agents, expanded indications, and updated guidelines for prescribing and monitoring. Focus areas will include patient selection criteria, safety assessments, immunization considerations, management of adverse effects, and practical approaches to initiating, transitioning, and monitoring biologic treatments in clinical practice. This presentation aims to support evidence-based decision-making and enhance patient care outcomes in advanced practice settings.

Damien Fisher
PharmD., AE-C
Damien Fisher, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacy specialist with extensive experience in ambulatory care, academia, and biologic therapy management. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy in 2004. Following graduation, Dr. Fisher completed an ASHP-accredited residency with an emphasis in Community and Ambulatory Care at the University of Tennessee, where he developed a strong foundation in direct patient care, chronic disease management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Fisher's professional interests led him into academia, where he has held Clinical Assistant Professor appointments at Hampton University School of Pharmacy, University of Houston College of Pharmacy, and South University School of Pharmacy. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy, contributing to the education and mentorship of future pharmacists. In his clinical role, Dr. Fisher is an Outpatient Allergy, Dermatology, and Pulmonology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Health League City team. His practice focuses on optimizing complex biologic therapies, patient education, and interdisciplinary care coordination. Additionally, he serves as Director of the Pharmacy Services Access Coordinator Boot Camp, where he educates patients and healthcare providers on biologic access, affordability programs, and navigation of medication assistance pathways.
Outside of his professional roles, Dr. Fisher is an avid movie enthusiast with a passion for cinema.
