This session explores one of the most essential—and most overlooked—truths in modern healthcare: you cannot pour from an empty cup. Using the familiar aviation metaphor as a starting point, this lecture dives into why prioritizing your own well being is not a luxury but a professional imperative.
Participants will examine the growing pressures facing clinicians today, from escalating patient complexity to administrative overload, and how these forces quietly erode resilience, clarity, and joy in practice. Through real-world examples and evidence-informed strategies, the talk highlights practical ways to strengthen personal sustainability, protect clinical excellence, and cultivate a sense of purpose amid constant change.
Attendees will leave with a renewed understanding of how self-preservation fuels better patient care, healthier teams, and a more vibrant healthcare workforce. This is a call to reclaim energy, reinforce boundaries, and build habits that allow clinicians not just to survive—but to grow and thrive in the environments they serve.
*Due to rapidly changing clinical knowledge, once purchased, you have 90 days access to complete this education.
