Hidden in Plain Sight: Spotting Hidradenitis Suppurativa in Primary Care

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, underrecognized skin disease that profoundly impacts patients’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. Primary care providers are often the first point of contact, yet many patients experience years of misdiagnosis and delayed treatment. In this session, Dermatology NP Dr. Patricia Delgado will highlight practical strategies for identifying HS early, distinguishing it from common differentials, and initiating evidence-based management. Attendees will leave with tools to improve timely recognition, patient counseling, and collaborative care, helping to change the trajectory of this often-debilitating condition.
