Amy Bruno is currently a nurse practitioner providing virtual primary care with Galileo Health, Inc. She also is a term lecturer at MGH Institute of Health Professions School of Nursing and teaches in the Adult-Gero Primary Care NP Program. Amy has previously worked in the neurology field for over 10 years providing care to clients in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  In 2016 she completed her Ph.D. in nursing at UMASS Dartmouth and her research interests include symptom management and quality of life in individuals with movement and headache disorders.

After listening to this podcast learners will: 

  • Define the risk factors, etiology, incidence, and prevalence of migraine, including the differentiation between headache and migraine
  • Review key principles in patient screening and management 
  • Identify decision-making strategies for therapeutic selection and behavior modification, specifically over-the-counter options and alternatives for migraine management
  • Foster patient educational opportunities for migraine awareness and information

To earn credits for this activity, you must complete all course components in the following order: 1) watch the course presentation video; 2) complete the course evaluation; 3) pass the post-test with a score of 2/3 (66.7%) or higher. You may retake the post-test until a passing score is achieved, at which point you will be able to view/print a copy of your certificate of completion. This online certificate will also be saved within your profile dashboard transcript for future access.
