This session will discuss the use of various spinal imaging. Topics include review of routine imaging with an emphasis on CT, MRI, and other advanced spinal imaging used in and outpatient. Numerous case studies with imaging of commonly encountered pathology will be discussed.

Christopher Hemmer
DNP, APRN, ANP, ONP-C, FAANP
Assistant Professor, Saint Louis University School of Nursing
Practice: Dr. Christopher Hemmer has been board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner since 1999, with over 25 years of experience specializing in adult spinal disorders. He currently practices with Mercy Neurosurgery, managing adult patients with chronic and traumatic spinal injuries. In addition to his specialty practice, Dr. Hemmer has extensive experience in emergency medicine, having moonlighted in various emergency departments throughout his career.
Teaching: Dr. Hemmer began his academic career in 2007 as an adjunct faculty member at Saint Louis University. In 2013, he accepted a full-time position in the School of Nursing as an Assistant Professor, where he teaches in the graduate nurse practitioner program. Dr. Hemmer is also a dedicated clinical preceptor, mentoring nurse practitioner students with a focus on spinal pathology and radiology interpretation. He has delivered numerous presentations on spine-related topics at local, state, national, and international conferences.
