This presentation emphasizes pharmacologic management of mood disorders across the mood spectrum. Using case studies from both primary care and the mental health care settings, managing the plan of care is analyzed using mood stabilizer, antipsychotic, and antidepressant therapies to achieve best patient outcomes. Differentiating among medications in the same class as well as utilization of best combination therapies is discussed.

Dr. Sally Miller has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for 30 years. She is board certified as a family NP, Adult/Geriatric Acute and Primary NP, and Psych/Mental Health NP. Dr. Miller is a clinical professor with Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions. She maintains an active clinical practice with Sahara Family Practice and Theravada Wellness. Sally has published over 30 research and clinical articles with emphasis on issues related to adult health and illness as well as obesity. She has been an active conference presenter and author in the NP community since 1996.
